Welcome to the Knob Noster R-VIII School District’s Human Resource Department. Knob Noster Public School District has a stellar reputation as a great place to work and establish a career, and our teaching staff comprises some of the most talented educators in West Central Missouri. In addition to our faculty, our strong classified staff supports our mission of excellence in education. 

Almost all our schools are located in the town of Knob Noster with the exception of Whiteman Elementary School which is close by on Whiteman Air Force Base. A small community of about 2,700 residents on Highway 50, Knob Noster is easily accessible and within convenient driving distance to many attractions and other cities. Warrensburg, home of the University of Central Missouri, is 12 miles west of Knob Noster, while 20 miles to the east is Sedalia where State Fair Community College and the Missouri State Fairgrounds are located. Kansas City, with its major sports teams, arts scene, and wide range of shopping and eating establishments, is a 50-minute drive away. For those who like the outdoors, many recreational activities are close at hand in Knob Noster State Park, such as fishing, hiking, and camping. Knob Noster is also within easy driving distance of several large lakes including Truman Lake and Lake of the Ozarks.

What sets Knob Noster apart from other rural Missouri communities is its close proximity to Whiteman Air Force Base, home of the B-2 Bomber. More than 60 percent of Knob Noster Schools' students are from military and military-impacted families. In fact, Knob Noster School District is among only 22 other school districts across the nation considered “heavily impacted” by the military. The district is proud of its relationship with Whiteman Air Force Base and is honored to serve our military families.

Our district has two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Knob Noster Elementary (KNE) serves mostly local residents in the town of Knob Noster and has around 370 students K-4th grade. The district also operates Whiteman Elementary (WE) on Whiteman Air Force Base for our military or base personnel families. WE has a student population of 360 preK-4th grade students. Beginning in fifth grade, students from both KNE and WE attend Knob Noster Middle School (KNMS) which has about 400 fifth through eighth graders while Knob Noster High School has about 360 students in grades nine through 12.
