Welcome to the Knob Noster R-VIII School District’s Human Resource Department. We firmly believe that you only become the best by hiring the BEST people! Knob Noster Public School District has a stellar reputation of being a great place to work and establish a career. Our teaching staff is composed of some of the most talented people in West Central Missouri. No faculty can be successful without the proper support given by a strong classified staff. Knob Noster is no exception as we employ outstanding support workers to help complete our team.
Knob Noster Schools has many amenities. It is located conveniently on Highway 50, 12 miles east of Warrensburg. Nestled next to the Knob Noster State Park, the district has many activities available for its residents. Shopping and a wide venue of fine eating can be located in the Kansas City metropolitan area 50 miles to the west. The University of Central Missouri, which offers many undergraduate and graduate degrees, including an excellent education department, is a 15-minute drive from Knob Noster.
Perhaps the most unique aspect of the Knob Noster Schools is its close proximity of the Whiteman Air Force Base, home of the B-2 Bomber. Knob Noster Schools contain over 60% of military and military impacted students. In fact, Knob Noster School District is among only 22 other school districts across the nation considered “heavily impacted” by the military. The district prides its relationship with Whiteman Air Force Base, and is honored to serve the military’s families.
Our district is made up of four building units. We have an elementary in the town of Knob Noster, known as KNE. This school serves mainly local students and has a population of around 370 K-4 students. The district also operates an elementary on Whiteman Air Force Base. This school serves mainly military or base personnel families. The school is named Whiteman Elementary (WE); it has a student population of 360, and serves student pre-K-4. The elementary schools, KNE and WE, serve as tributaries to the Knob Noster Middle School. The middle school serves students in grades 5-8, and has around 400 students. KNMS is located next to Knob Noster Elementary on Wimer Street. Knob Noster High School has a student population of around 360. KNHS has the newest building in our district, and is located on Washington Street.
