Posted on 06/13/2018
Eleven students from Knob Noster Middle School participated with 8,000 other students from more than 15 countries in Destination Imagination Global Finals during the week of May 22-27. Taylor Trudell, Chance Howard, Roston Olson, Eli Brandenburg, and Joshua Gallo competed in a Science Challenge requiring them to make an amusement park ride in an unlikely place with a set budget to include a skit and two additional team choice elements. Ryland Olson, Mason Grosz, Miguel Lara, Drew Fundaburg, Noah Schoepke, and Victor Candelaria-Beard participated in the Engineering Challenge requiring them to build a structure of wood and glue within specific height and weight specifications, include a skit, make an event depicter, and two additional team choice elements with a small set budget. Although both teams did not place, they showed great improvement and had a wonderful time at the event exploring many STEM/STEAM activities, visiting with members from NASA, attending a duct tape costume ball, and much more.
