The Little Wingmen Preschool program is GROWING! We are excited to announce that we are looking for additional classroom space to be able to support our surging enrollment.

We need your help! We would love a head count of potential enrollees for the upcoming school year. Do you have a child at home that will be 3 or 4 years old by July 31, 2021?

Are you interested in a stimulating ½ day program that focuses on academics, social skills, whole brain and more? We would LOVE to have you in our program. Contact Tori Hunter, Little Wingmen Director, at 660-563-3028 for more information or to schedule a screening appointment. (If you have already started the process, you don’t need to call again.)
We are so excited to meet our new families!

What Is Little Wingmen Preschool -- A Look at Preschool for 2021-2022

In September of 2020, the Knob Noster School District was awarded a grant from DoDEA to launch a preschool program serving 3 and 4 year old students. Our goal is to give as many area students as possible the opportunity to experience a quality preschool experience. (Most of the programs in town are full with waiting lists.) We place local residents first, but we do extend the invitation to active duty families in the area. (Please call for more information.)

We have three classrooms. We are set up to serve thirty-two 3 year old students and sixty-four 4 year old students. Our staff includes 1 Program Director and Lead Teacher (Mrs. Tori Hunter), 2 Preschool Teachers (Abby Frandsen and Jodie Hamilton), 2 Co-Teachers (Elizabeth Caldwell and Mariah Jackson), and one Paraprofessional (Isabella Chapa). Students enjoy small class sizes with a 1:8 adult/student ratio.

We use the Emerging Language and Literacy Curriculum from the University of Missouri. This program is rich in social development, play-based learning and overall development of the preschool aged child. We have support from the Eureka Math program that is used in K-12 grades within the district.

A typical student day involves circle time, table learning, play and exploration in theme-based centers, recess and snack. Each class lesson lasts 3 hours. The Little Wingmen Team works hard to provide as many opportunities for hands-on learning as possible! We love getting dirty and having fun! That’s a sure sign that we are learning! Hands wash pretty easily!

Our hours are listed below.

Little Wingmen Preschool Hours:
M,T,TH,F  9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00

***Wednesdays***
9:00-11:00 and 12:00-2:00

On Wednesdays, the district participates in an Early Release plan so that teachers can participate in Professional Development. We cut an hour off of our school that day.

***1:00 Dismissal Days***
8:30-10:30 and 11:00-1:00

The last Friday of the quarter, we dismiss at 1:00. Again, in an effort to see both morning and afternoon groups, we trim the hours of the day just a bit.

Transportation is up to the parent/guardian with one exception. We have an arrangement with the CDC to get kids here for the afternoon session.

For more information, please call Program Director Tori Hunter at 660-563-3028 ext. 4311.
