Cadets from TRIAD AFJROTC competed in the Blue Springs South High School Invitational Drill Meet on March 3rd, 2018 and received several trophies for their efforts.  The team earned 1st place for New Cadet Drill, 2nd Place for Unarmed Regulation Drill, 2nd Place for Armed Color Guard and 5th place for Personnel Inspection.  Senior Master Sergeant Randy Johnson, TRIAD AFJROTC Aerospace Science Instructor and Drill Team Coach stated that this eighth and final meet of the year “...was a huge success for the cadets”.  He stated that their team of 12 cadets knew this would be a building year since 10 of the 12 members were new to drill, with only two having 1 year previous experience.  “We just kept working on fundamentals and ensured the cadets entered as many drill meets as possible to hone their skills."  After eight drill meets, earning three previous trophies, the cadets hit their stride during this drill meet.

Cadet Zoe Duncan, Drill Team Commander and sophomore at Warrensburg High School, stated the cadets started the morning events off strong but then had one rough event where they did not perform well.  She acknowledged the team rallied together for the final event of their final drill meet of the season and “rocked their performance”.  Cadet Duncan stated her 12 person team was “surprised” to receive so many trophies and certainly enjoyed ending their drill season on such a high note.  The next drill season begins October 2018 and the cadets are looking forward to the work, the competition, and improving their skills.
