RE:      HWY 23 Roadwork Associated with New KNHS Campus

Dear Knob Noster Community,

I am reaching out to ensure that you are aware of the upcoming work on Hwy 23 adjacent to your new Knob Noster High School Campus, which will be opening doors this fall.

Below, please see the public notice from MODOT.  This work is being conducted in alignment with the approved MODOT Traffic Impact Study, which was conducted during the planning stages of this project. The TIS calls out the required modifications to public roadways as it relates to our project, as referenced in the public notice.

The district is aware of public opinions related to traffic flow associated with the Hwy 50 and Hwy 23 intersection. The Knob Noster School District, City of Knob Noster, and Whiteman Air Force Base continue to work strategically and cooperatively to advocate for state financial support for improvements. With that said, the forthcoming improvements are the REQUIRED improvements based on MODOT’s assessment and direction.

Should you have any questions, comments, or input, as always, please feel free to email, call, or drop by the office.

V/R,

Jerrod Wheeler
Superintendent of Schools
