PROJECT: PARTNERS
Preparing Adolescents for Relevant Training:
Nurturing Early Responsibility and Success
The PROJECT: PARTNERS program is a combination of classroom instruction, career exploration and on-the-job supports for students with developmental delays to prepare them for competitive employment. It is a school-to-work program that provides on-the-job training four days a week with additional classroom instruction to prepare for each unique site.
It is designed for 2-3 students in their junior or senior year of high school to work as interns for career exploration and job training through 10-week rotational internships at Whiteman AFB, Missouri. Students acquire competitive, transferable and marketable job skills while also gaining increased independence, confidence, self-reliance and self-esteem.
